Peter Obi Media Office Demands Accountability From Tinubu Administration
The Peter Obi Media Office challenged the Tinubu administration to explain its governance record instead of disputing 2023 election claims.
The Peter Obi Media Office challenged Henry Dele Alake, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, to account for the administration's performance since the 2023 presidential election. In a statement issued by spokesperson Idris Zekeri Jnr, the office urged Alake and the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council to stop disputing Peter Obi's claims regarding the 2023 election results.
The media office argued that the government should instead explain its record on security, affordability, and economic relief. While the office acknowledged that the courts affirmed the official election results, it maintained that a legal victory does not equate to successful governance.
Zekeri asserted that ordinary Nigerians are facing worsening poverty, rising living costs, and increased economic hardship. He stated that leadership should be judged by the capacity to transform political authority into concrete outcomes for citizens rather than the ability to defend an electoral result in court.
