Danaher Appoints Julie Sawyer Montgomery as Next CEO
Danaher Corporation appointed Julie Sawyer Montgomery as President and CEO, effective October 1, 2026, succeeding retiring executive Rainer Blair.
The Board of Directors of Danaher Corporation appointed Julie Sawyer Montgomery as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2026. Montgomery previously served as Executive Vice President and head of the company's Diagnostics platform, where she grew revenue from approximately $6.0 billion in 2017 to $11.0 billion. She also managed the acquisition of Masimo and the pending acquisition of StatLab.
Montgomery succeeds Rainer Blair, who will retire on October 1. To ensure a smooth transition, Blair will remain a senior advisor through March 31, 2027. In addition to the leadership change, Montgomery will join the company's Board of Directors.
Along with the appointment, Danaher announced special equity incentive awards for its founders and key leadership members. The company stated that it is maintaining its previously communicated guidance for the third quarter and full-year 2026.
