Mercedes-AMG Launches Electric GT 53 4-Door Coupe
Mercedes-AMG introduced the electric GT 53, an entry-level 4-Door Coupe with a 500-mile range scheduled for U.S. release in early 2027.
Mercedes-AMG expanded its electric GT 4-Door Coupe lineup with the introduction of the GT 53, an entry-level model designed to make the family more accessible. The vehicle features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering 536 peak horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, allowing for a 0-60 mph acceleration time between 3.4 and 3.8 seconds.
Equipped with a 106-kWh battery and 800-volt architecture, the GT 53 supports 600 kW fast charging. It offers a WLTP range of approximately 500 miles, which exceeds the range of the more powerful GT 55 and GT 63 variants. A notable design choice includes simulated inline-six combustion engine sounds recorded from a C238-generation E53 Coupe and faux gear shifts operated via steering-wheel paddles.
The GT 53 starts at €115,430 in Germany and is expected to arrive at United States dealerships in early 2027.
