German Military Considers Reviving Cold War Medical Bunker

The Military of Germany is considering the revival of a Cold War-era underground medical bunker in Ulm to prepare for potential war and mass casualty events. The facility, completed in 1979 during the standoff between Moscow and the West, was originally designed to enable doctors to treat injured soldiers in the aftermath of a nuclear strike.

The bunker is capable of housing up to 2,000 people for a period of 90 days. After remaining dormant for nearly three decades, the facility has regained strategic relevance due to current looming threats from Russia.
