Arunachal Congress President Alleges Chinese Incursions in Upper Subansiri
Bosiram Siram alleges Chinese troops intruded up to 50 kilometers into Indian territory, though government officials have dismissed the claims as rumors.
The President of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress, Bosiram Siram, alleged that Chinese troops have intruded 40 to 50 kilometers into Indian territory within the Upper Subansiri district. Following a delegation visit to border areas between August 26 and 29, Siram claimed the Chinese People's Liberation Army has restricted civilian access to traditional hunting and grazing lands and engaged in physical skirmishes with Indian forces in late July.
Siram criticized the Indian government for failing to provide adequate infrastructure, noting a lack of consistent food supplies for soldiers and poor mobile connectivity. He argued that communication facilities on the Chinese side are superior and called for a high-level investigation into the incursions. To bolster regional security, he proposed the creation of a dedicated Arunachal Regiment composed of local youth.
These allegations have been dismissed as rumors by the Union Defence Minister, the state Home Minister, and the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.
