Scotland Unemployment Rate Rises to 5.1 Percent

The Office for National Statistics reported that Scotland's unemployment rate rose to 5.1 percent between May and July. This figure represents a 0.6 percent increase compared to the previous quarter and surpasses the United Kingdom's overall average unemployment rate of 4.9 percent.

Labor market data shows that 140,000 people aged 16 and over were out of work during this period. The employment rate for individuals aged 16 to 64 declined to 73.7 percent, while 2.627 million people aged 16 and over remained in employment across Scotland.
