Gold and Silver Prices Drop Amid Inflation Fears
Gold and silver prices declined globally and in India as rising crude oil costs and high US Treasury yields revived inflation and interest rate concerns.
Precious metal prices fell in global and domestic markets on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. The decline was triggered by a rise in crude oil prices, which renewed concerns regarding inflation and the potential for additional interest rate hikes.
Commodity Exchange Inc saw gold futures trade near $4,165 per ounce and silver near $60 per ounce on the Comex. Pressure on these metals was further intensified by US Treasury yields, which remained near multi-decade highs due to ongoing fiscal risks.
In the Indian market, the Multi Commodity Exchange reported gold futures trading near Rs 1,49,500 per 10 gram, while silver futures traded near Rs 2,25,900 per kg.
