NYSE and Blockchain.com Partner to Offer Tokenized Stocks

The New York Stock Exchange and Blockchain.com signed an agreement to provide 44 million users access to tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs.

The New York Stock Exchange and Blockchain.com signed a memorandum of understanding to launch a digital trading platform providing access to tokenized U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds. The partnership aims to enable fractional ownership, blockchain settlement, and 24/7 trading for more than 44 million verified Blockchain.com accounts.

Under the agreement, the companies will exchange market data. ICE Data Services will distribute crypto analytics from Blockchain.com, while Blockchain.com will integrate data feeds from the NYSE and Intercontinental Exchange into its application. The initiative is subject to regulatory approval.

This collaboration follows a five-year exemption granted by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, which allows specific platforms to offer tokenized securities without following all traditional exchange rules. Peter Smith described tokenized stocks as one of the most impactful advancements in the modern financial landscape and a catalyst for greater economic freedom.
