Israeli Settlers Burn Two West Bank Mosques During Military Raids

Israeli settlers set fire to two mosques and a residential home in the West Bank on July 26, 2026. In Qusra, attackers torched the Al-Rahma mosque and vandalized residential property. In the village of Kour, settlers burned another mosque and spray-painted racist slogans on the walls. The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs described the Kour attack as a "heinous crime" and noted that 45 mosques in the region were targeted in 2025.

These attacks occurred alongside a broad military operation by the Israeli Military. Forces detained 24 Palestinians across the Nablus governorate, including in the Askar refugee camps and the town of Tell. In Tell, soldiers sealed the home of Farouq Ramadan, who was killed the previous Friday, and took measurements for its demolition. The military described these actions as a "counter-terrorism" operation following clashes in Tell that left four Palestinians and two Israelis dead.

Additional Israeli forces demolished a 150-square-meter home under construction in the village of Jalbun, east of Jenin, citing a lack of building permits. Local officials reported that this is part of a wider trend of construction restrictions, with 341 demolitions carried out in the first half of 2026.
