Tata Advanced Systems to Co-Produce Javelin Missiles in India

Tata Advanced Systems Limited signed a memorandum of understanding with the Javelin Joint Venture, a partnership between Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, to co-produce Javelin All Up Round missiles in India. The agreement establishes a dedicated final assembly and integration facility and component manufacturing capabilities within India to support regional stability in the Indo-Pacific.

Under the production model, Lockheed Martin will manufacture sub-assembly kits in Troy, Alabama, and Raytheon will produce guidance electronics units in Tucson, Arizona. These components will be shipped to India for final assembly. The initiative aims to strengthen India's defense industrial ecosystem, create local high-tech jobs, and reduce per-unit costs for the U.S. contractors through economic order quantities.

Executives from the Javelin Joint Venture stated the partnership ensures a more resilient global supply chain for the anti-tank weapon system. The collaboration is intended to improve operational readiness for the Indian Armed Forces by providing timely access to combat-ready capabilities.
