Meta Launches AI Marketing Tools for Small Businesses

Meta Platforms Incorporated released AI features to help small businesses audit social media performance and receive marketing strategy suggestions.

Meta Platforms Incorporated launched a suite of AI features in August 2026 to assist small business owners in auditing Facebook and Instagram posts. The tools allow users to measure their performance against competitors and receive automated marketing strategy suggestions.

Reactions from business owners are divided. Bonnie Gurry, CEO of GreenPortfolio, described the tools as operational time-savers that function like a junior analyst for diagnostics and copy variations. However, other users expressed skepticism regarding the platform's objectivity. Catalina Parker of Relatable Nonprofit reported that Meta's recommendations often failed to align with her specific business needs, suggesting a conflict of interest because Meta benefits from increased advertiser spending.

Additional concerns center on the cost of implementation. Andrea Garcia Fry, cofounder of Arquia, noted the high cost of the learning process required for the AI to accurately identify target customers. To mitigate these risks, some business owners are supplementing Meta's tools with generative AI such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini for content ideation and data auditing, while retaining final authority over brand positioning and capital allocation.
