Steven Price resigned as the senior vice president of market investigations at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority to become the chief compliance officer at Finalis. Based in San Francisco, Finalis is a dealmaking fintech company that provides licensing and compliance infrastructure for boutique investment firms.

During his six-year tenure at FINRA, Price supervised thousands of investigations into insider trading and market manipulation. He also developed the regulatory body's first AI-driven model for analyzing misconduct referrals. Price stated that the opportunity to apply lessons from FINRA to make processes faster and connect information to the right parties was an attractive prospect.

Founded in 2020 by Federico Baradello, Finalis has facilitated $34 billion in transactions. The company's growth coincides with a broader trend where AI and fintech tools allow investment bankers to launch boutique operations by automating analytical and administrative tasks.
