Hedge fund manager Bill Ackman revealed on the Equity Mates Investing podcast that Warren Buffett claimed to have avoided drinking water for 48 years. Ackman recounted a dinner from years ago where the 96-year-old investor declined both still and sparkling water in favor of Cherry Coke.
Buffett, the former CEO and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, is known for consuming five cans of Coca-Cola daily, a habit he once noted accounted for 25% of his daily calories. This dietary preference mirrors Berkshire Hathaway's financial interests, as the firm holds a roughly 9% stake in The Coca-Cola Company valued at approximately $28 billion as of December.
Buffett's preference for sweets and fast food has historically complicated his international travel. During a 1995 trip to China with Bill and Melinda Gates, special dietary arrangements were required to accommodate his habits.
