Bucharest Airports Record 8.46 Million Passengers in Early 2026

The National Company Bucharest Airports reported that Henri Coandă International Airport and Băneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport served a record 8.46 million passengers during the first half of 2026. This represents a 5.08% increase compared to the same period in 2025, while aircraft movements grew by 3.37% to reach 68,367 total landings and take-offs.

Henri Coandă Airport served over 7.7 million passengers, and Băneasa Airport reached a new record of 745,674 passengers, exceeding its entire passenger total for the full year of 2025.

General Director Bogdan Mîndrescu credited these results to a management strategy centered on attracting new airlines, expanding routes, and optimizing the quality and safety of airport infrastructure.
