President Mahama Launches Accra Airport Car Park and Hotel Complex

President John Dramani Mahama will break ground on August 27 for a multi-storey car park and hotel complex at Accra International Airport.

President John Dramani Mahama will cut the sod on August 27, 2026, for a new multi-storey car park and hotel complex at the Accra International Airport. The project aims to resolve critical capacity shortages at the existing Terminal 3 car park, which currently accommodates only 513 vehicles.

The new development will feature a seven-storey car park with more than 2,000 bays, two hotels, a shopping mall with a food court, retail and office spaces, a sky lounge, and an observation deck. To ensure accessibility, a pedestrian connection will link the complex directly to the terminal building.

Funding for the project comes from the Airport Infrastructure Development Charge, a levy on departing passengers that was implemented in April 2026. The Ghana Airports Company Limited expects the construction to be completed within 24 months.
