Lebanese President Condemns Israeli Strikes Ahead of Rome Talks

Joseph Aoun, the President of Lebanon, condemned Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon on Saturday, describing the attacks as a "clear message" against the current negotiation process and U.S. efforts to implement a framework agreement.

Aoun stated that the strikes violated international law regarding the protection of civilians. He specifically cited an attack in the village of Ansar that resulted in the death of an entire family.

These military actions occur as both parties prepare for the next round of U.S.-sponsored talks between Lebanon and Israel, which are scheduled to take place in Rome early next month.
