UAE Projects 10 Percent GDP Growth by 2027
The United Arab Emirates projects GDP growth will reach 10 percent by 2027 through non-oil expansion and increased oil production capacity.
A high-level delegation from the United Arab Emirates participated in the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Bangkok to showcase the nation's financial policies and economic diversification.
Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE, projected that GDP growth will accelerate to approximately 10 percent by 2027. Balama attributed this forecast to the expansion of non-oil economic activities, infrastructure investment, and increased oil production capacity following the UAE's withdrawal from OPEC.
During the meetings, the delegation also conducted coordination sessions to prepare for Abu Dhabi's role as the host of the 2029 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group.
