Central Statistics Office Reports 84,739 Ukrainian Arrivals Active in Ireland

The Central Statistics Office reports that 69% of Ukrainians issued temporary protection numbers remain active in Ireland, with employment concentrated in food and accommodation services.

The Central Statistics Office reported that 84,739 arrivals from Ukraine remained active in Ireland as of June 23, 2026. This figure represents 69% of the 122,636 individuals who were issued Personal Public Service Numbers as Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection.

Demographic data shows that women aged 20 and over comprise 45% of these active arrivals, while men of the same age account for 29%. In May 2026, 31,069 arrivals were employed with mean weekly earnings of €573, with 23% working in the accommodation and food services sector.

Language barriers continue to hinder labor market integration. Over half of the 55,350 arrivals who attended Intreo employment support events identified English language proficiency as a challenge. Consequently, 10,988 arrivals were enrolled in further education and training as of June 1, 2026, with most taking English courses.

Geographically, Kenmare in County Kerry recorded the highest number of arrivals and the highest rate of arrivals per 100 of the population.
