Google Launches Gemini Enterprise AI for Finance and Law

Google expanded its Gemini Enterprise platform with specialized AI tools for financial services and legal professionals to automate complex workflows and risk assessments.

Google expanded its Gemini Enterprise artificial intelligence platform on Tuesday, launching specialized suites for the financial and legal sectors. The company introduced Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services and Gemini Enterprise for Legal, both utilizing AI agents to automate complex processes and reduce routine workloads.

In the financial sector, Deutsche Bank AG acted as a design partner to develop tools for portfolio monitoring and credit risk assessment. The bank reported that the implementation contributed to a more than 7% increase in average loans last quarter compared to the first quarter of 2025, while provisions for credit losses decreased by over 50%. Deutsche Bank plans to deploy the tool more widely in the fourth quarter of 2026, with potential applications for analyzing trade tariffs and supply chain disruptions.

Simultaneously, Google launched Gemini Enterprise for Legal to assist law firms with contract negotiation, regulatory tracking, and case file searches. Developed with input from firms including Cleary Gottlieb and Freshfields, the platform integrates with existing technology from providers such as Thomson Reuters and LexisNexis. Google stated that client data and model outputs will not be used to train its foundation models.

These launches place Google in direct competition with Microsoft, Anthropic, and OpenAI, as well as specialized providers like Thomson Reuters, which recently released its Thomson 1.0 model. Google Cloud views the finance and legal sectors as strategic growth industries as law firms face increasing client pressure to automate tasks and reduce billable hours.
