The Kenya Defence Forces hosted a series of strategic security engagements between June 11 and 12, 2026, focusing on regional partnerships, maritime safety, and domestic land management. At the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi, officials met with a delegation from the Army War College Nigeria for a Geo-Strategic Study presentation to enhance military education and training exchanges.
Simultaneously, Kenya and Egypt convened the 7th Joint Military Committee meeting to implement a Technical Agreement on Defence Cooperation. Led by Brigadier Caroline Mutisya and Commodore Amr Salah, the discussions focused on joint defence policy, industrial manufacturing, and cross-border medical cooperation to address emerging threats.
On June 12, the focus shifted to internal assets and maritime security. The Kenya Defence Forces Ministerial Ad Hoc Committee on Military Lands met with the National Land Commission to coordinate the protection of strategic military land against encroachment. In a separate track, a delegation from the European Peace Facility visited the Kenya Navy. Commander Major General Paul Otieno and EU officials explored capacity building and infrastructure improvements to combat piracy, terrorism, and illegal fishing in the Western Indian Ocean.
