Rajnath Singh Urges Indian Navy to Adopt New Maritime Philosophy
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the Indian Navy's global power and urged personnel to view the sea as a carrier of power and prosperity.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the Indian Navy as one of the most powerful naval forces in the world during a Bada Khana event at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam. Singh highlighted the Navy's operational history, specifically citing the 1971 Operation Trident attack on Karachi port, and noted the force's strong presence across the Indo-Pacific region.
While acknowledging modernization efforts through the development of indigenous aircraft carriers and nuclear-powered submarines, Singh cautioned that 21st-century challenges are more difficult than those of the past. He urged naval personnel to adopt a new philosophy of "advancing prosperity and power through the sea," arguing that the ocean must be viewed as both a pathway to development and a carrier of power.
