Shein Invests €500 Million in Polish Logistics Hub

Shein is investing €500 million to expand its logistics hub in Poland to counter falling European sales and new EU parcel charges.

Shein is investing €500 million to expand its European logistics hub near Wroclaw, Poland, in an effort to stabilize its regional operations. The expansion aims to enable 48-hour delivery in specific markets and will utilize 6,500 autonomous robots. By the end of 2026, the facility is expected to employ more than 10,000 people.

This strategic shift follows a significant decline in the retailer's second-quarter European sales and a 67 percent drop in net profit. The downturn coincides with new European Union charges introduced in July to curb unfair competition from online retailers. These levies began at €3 for parcels under €150 and increased by an additional €2 on November 1.

Leonard Lin, the company's global head of public affairs, stated that the investment is intended to build more efficient, flexible and resilient European operations. The move forces Shein and its competitors, including Temu and AliExpress, to adapt their logistics models to remain viable under the new regulatory environment.
