SpaceX Commits to Exclusive AI Infrastructure Build with Nvidia

Elon Musk announced SpaceX will use Nvidia hardware exclusively for its AI infrastructure, citing the superior performance of the new Vera Rubin architecture.

CEO Elon Musk announced that Space Exploration Technologies Corp. will build its AI infrastructure exclusively using Nvidia products. During a Q2 conference call, Musk identified the new Vera Rubin architecture as the best AI computer available and emphasized the close partnership between the two companies.

The Vera Rubin architecture is currently entering production. It is expected to reduce training costs fourfold and inference costs tenfold compared to the previous Blackwell GPUs. This hardware commitment supports the expansion of SpaceX's AI presence through xAI and the Grok large language model family, which reported a 213% revenue increase in Q2.

SpaceX, which went public in June and is valued at 2 trillion dollars, remains focused on capturing market share in AI applications despite not yet achieving profitability. Nvidia continues to dominate the hardware sector with a valuation of approximately 5.5 trillion dollars and doubled revenues in the second quarter.
