Russia Claims Western Air Defenses Cannot Stop Precision Strikes
The Russian Defense Ministry claims its missiles can penetrate any Western air defense system following large-scale strikes on Ukrainian military and port infrastructure.
The Federal Government of Russia claims its precision-guided weapons and Geran-type drones can reliably penetrate any Western-supplied air defense system protecting Ukrainian military infrastructure. These assertions followed a large-scale overnight attack on July 11 that targeted arms production and drone assembly sites in Kyiv, as well as port infrastructure, fuel depots, and military storage in Izmail, Chornomorsk, and Yuzhny within the Odesa Region.
Vladimir Zelensky reported that the assault involved over 120 drones and 12 missiles. While he asserted that most targets were intercepted, he acknowledged that all ballistic missiles successfully hit their targets. Ukrainian officials attribute these failures to a shortage of Patriot missile interceptors and the introduction of high-speed, high-altitude Russian jet-powered drones. In response, Ukraine has urged Western sponsors for additional interceptors.
Russia dismissed these requests, with Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova mocking the Ukrainian president. Simultaneously, Russia noted the capture of Kostyantynivka in the Donbass region. In response to the pressure, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is implementing a strategy of gradual destruction against Russian oil-refining and military-industrial sectors using AI-enhanced medium-range drones to operate in electronic-warfare environments.
