Google Adds AI Hotel Booking and Flight Tracking to Search

Google integrated AI-driven hotel booking, flight price alerts, and rewards points pricing into the AI Mode of Google Search to streamline travel planning.

Google integrated three new travel planning and booking features into the AI Mode of Google Search to automate the itinerary process. The updates allow users to track flight prices across more than 300 airlines and travel websites in over 180 countries and territories, excluding the European Economic Area. Users can now receive email alerts when fares change for specific destinations and dates via conversational prompts.

AI Mode now displays flight and hotel costs in rewards points or miles globally. Initial support for this feature includes partners such as American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Hilton, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, and Choice Hotels, with Lufthansa Group and Hyatt expected to join in the coming weeks.

Additionally, the company is rolling out hotel booking capabilities for English-speaking users in the United States. Through a "Continue on Google" flow, users can select room types, review cancellation policies, and pay via Google Pay. Integrated partners for this service include hotel chains like Marriott International, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Choice Hotels, as well as booking platforms including Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Priceline, and Trip.com. While Google facilitates the payment and booking process, the hotel or booking platform remains the merchant of record and handles all customer service.
