Prologis Proposes 99-Megawatt Data Center in South San Jose
Prologis filed a proposal to build a 516,000-square-foot data center in San Jose featuring 99 megawatts of electricity capacity.
Prologis filed a proposal with San Jose city planners to develop a three-story, 516,000-square-foot data center at 5977 Silver Creek Valley Road. The facility will include 30,000 square feet of office space and operate with an electricity capacity of 99 megawatts.
The 15-acre site was originally purchased by a Duke Realty affiliate from Peery Arrillaga in 2021 before Prologis acquired Duke Realty in 2022. To ensure power stability, Prologis committed to funding the transmission interconnection work and a second independently routed transmission line.
PG&E Corporation recently doubled the capacity of a nearby substation to 80 megawatts and plans further expansions to support the data center and the surrounding community. Prologis intends to use carbon-free power programs and expects the phased construction process to take approximately two years.
