Apple Launches M6 MacBook Pro and Teases MacBook Neo

Apple launched the M6-powered MacBook Pro in India and 34 other markets while planning a second-generation MacBook Neo for early 2027.

Apple Inc. launched the 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 chip in India and 34 other countries on October 28, 2026. The new laptop features a 12-core CPU and GPU, delivering up to 30 percent faster graphics and 25 percent faster on-device AI performance than the M5. It runs macOS 27 Golden Gate, which introduces Siri AI and expanded Apple Intelligence for task automation and personal context search.

The MacBook Pro includes a Liquid Retina XDR display with an optional nano-texture finish and battery life up to 24 hours. Pre-orders began October 28, with general availability set for November 6. The company also updated the iMac with the M6 chip and held a Pro and tell event in Los Angeles on October 28.

Looking toward 2027, the company plans to release a second-generation MacBook Neo in the first half of the year. This budget model will feature an A19 Pro chip and increase base memory to 12GB, up from the 8GB in the original version launched in March 2026. The original MacBook Neo currently retails for $699 in the United States, following a price increase from $599 in June 2026 due to memory cost pressures.
