Coalition Organizes 2,500 No Kings Rallies Across 50 States
A national coalition of advocacy groups held over 2,500 rallies across the United States to encourage voter turnout before the November 3 midterm elections.
A national coalition including Indivisible, MoveOn, and the American Civil Liberties Union organized more than 2,500 No Kings rallies across all 50 U.S. states on October 17. These nonpartisan events were designed to drive voter participation and promote early voting ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
Demonstrations took place in diverse locations, including a gathering of 600 to 700 people at the county plaza in Taos, New Mexico. In Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, approximately 350 people protested on East State Street, centering their activity at the Kennett Library, which serves as a local ballot drop-off site.
Participants carried signs addressing the cost of war, climate change, and the influence of money in politics. Organizers characterized the events as the final protests before the midterms, stressing that local voting is the primary mechanism for effecting change.
