Asaduddin Owaisi Urges Muslim Political Leadership in Uttar Pradesh

Asaduddin Owaisi called for Muslims in Uttar Pradesh to seek leadership roles, citing Abdul El-Sayed's US Senate victory as a model for political identity.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi called on Muslims in Uttar Pradesh to strengthen their political identity and pursue leadership roles ahead of upcoming Assembly elections. Owaisi argued that the community should no longer be treated as a vote bank, citing the victory of Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed in the Michigan US Senate race against Republican Mike Rogers as evidence of the potential for Muslim political success.

Owaisi criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party for using the name 'Abdul' as a taunt and accused the Samajwadi Party of treating Muslims as subordinates who merely spread carpets for other leaders. He asserted that the AIMIM will field candidates to establish distinct political leadership for minorities and weaker sections.

In a separate matter, Owaisi opposed the potential removal of the historic Kadimi Masjid in Delhi to make way for the Central Vista project. He argued that the mosque is a registered Waqf property that predates the current layout of the capital and must be preserved.
