GCC Condemns Iranian Attacks on UAE Oil Tankers
Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi condemned Iranian attacks on ADNOC tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, calling for international pressure to ensure maritime security.
Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi condemned repeated Iranian attacks on commercial vessels and two tankers belonging to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in the Strait of Hormuz. Albudaiwi described the actions as a "dangerous and unacceptable escalation" and a direct threat to international trade and maritime navigation.
He stated that the attacks violate the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and UN Security Council Resolution 2817. In response, the GCC called on the international community to pressure Iran to end its hostile activities and guarantee freedom of navigation in the waterway.
The GCC expressed unwavering solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, pledging support for all measures the UAE implements to protect its sovereignty, security, and commercial interests.
