Gold and Silver Prices Show Mixed Trends Across India
Indian gold and silver prices fluctuated on September 29, with retail rates varying by city and jewelry chain amid international market pressures.
Gold and silver prices in India exhibited mixed trends on September 29, 2026, with retail rates for 24-karat gold ranging from ₹1,48,800 to ₹1,49,080 per 10 grams across major metropolitan areas. While some reports indicated a decline in gold prices across most metros—including a drop of up to ₹125 per gram for 22-carat gold in Chennai and Hyderabad—several major retail chains maintained steady pricing.
Malabar Gold & Diamonds quoted 22K gold at ₹13,665 per gram and 24K gold at ₹14,907 per gram, while Joyalukkas kept 22K gold unchanged at ₹13,640 per gram. In contrast, Tanishq listed higher rates, quoting 22K gold between ₹13,710 and ₹14,040 per gram and 24K gold at ₹14,956 per gram.
Silver prices remained largely steady at ₹2,40,000 per kg in most cities, though Hyderabad and Chennai recorded higher rates of ₹2,44,900 per kg. Market volatility continues to be driven by international spot bullion trends, USD/INR currency dynamics, and anticipated demand from upcoming festivals.
