Coinbase and Webull Expand Crypto Partnership to Canada
Coinbase and Webull are launching institutional-grade cryptocurrency custody and trading services for Canadian investors through a Crypto-as-a-Service infrastructure partnership.
Coinbase and Webull have expanded their cryptocurrency infrastructure partnership into Canada to provide institutional-grade custody and trading services. Through the Crypto-as-a-Service platform, Coinbase provides the core infrastructure and liquidity access for Webull Canada Crypto Limited.
Webull Canada is regulated by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization and is a member of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund. However, the companies clarified that cryptocurrency assets held on the platform are not covered by CIPF protection. This expansion follows previous similar arrangements established by the two companies in the United States, Brazil, and Australia.
The move aligns with growing market demand in the region. A survey by the Ontario Securities Commission indicates that cryptocurrency asset ownership in Canada has increased to 25% of the population.
