The Government of Pakistan confirmed the deployment of military personnel to Saudi Arabia as regional tensions escalate and the conflict in Yemen shifts. Ansar Allah forces are currently making strategic gains in Yemen, specifically targeting Taiz and areas near the Bab al-Mandab strait.
Lt. Col. Anthony Aguilar warned that these advances cannot be countered by air strikes alone and cautioned that the conflict is expanding from a sub-regional to a potentially continental scale. Aguilar also challenged the official narrative of the Trump administration regarding military success in the region.
Specifically, Aguilar claimed that recent losses of aircraft and personnel contradict statements made by Marco Rubio concerning the military capabilities of Iran and the sustainability of United States operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
