Stacker Releases Home Value Rankings Across Multiple U.S. Metro Areas

Stacker used Zillow data to identify the most expensive homes in the Cape Coral, Deltona, Abilene, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Gainesville metropolitan areas.

The data aggregator Stacker released a series of reports identifying the most expensive cities and towns across several U.S. metropolitan areas, utilizing real estate data from Zillow. The reports highlight significant regional disparities in home values, ranging from high-end markets in Florida and Ohio to more affordable options in Texas.

In Florida, Boca Grande in the Cape Coral metro area emerged as a top high-value location with a typical home value of $2,576,987, despite an 11.1% price decrease over the previous year. In the Deltona metro area, Ponce Inlet held the top spot at $526,434. Other notable high-value areas included Hunting Valley in the Cleveland metro area at $1,718,437 and The Village of Indian Hill in the Cincinnati metro area at $1,709,078.

More affordable extremes were noted in the Abilene, Texas metro area, where Stamford recorded the lowest value at $97,247, while Ovalo ranked highest at $476,499. In the Gainesville metro area, Morriston led with a typical value of $465,802.

Across all reports, Stacker noted broader economic trends affecting the housing market. The typical U.S. home value reached $372,057 in June, a 1.1% increase from the prior year. Affordability remains a challenge for buyers due to high borrowing costs, with the 30-year fixed mortgage rate standing at 6.55% as of July 16.
