Highway Closures Scheduled for Minnesota and California
The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the City of Bakersfield scheduled various highway ramp and lane closures starting August 3, 2026.
Various infrastructure projects in Minnesota and California will cause significant traffic disruptions starting August 3, 2026. In Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close several ramps along Highway 77 in Eagan and Apple Valley for repairs. The closure of the ramp from Palomino Drive to northbound Highway 77 begins at 5 a.m. on August 3 and lasts through late August. Subsequent closures include the ramp from Cliff Road to northbound Highway 77 from August 10 through late September, and the ramp from northbound Highway 77 to Diffley Road from August 17 through mid-September.
Separately, the City of Bakersfield has scheduled overnight closures at the Highway 99 and Highway 58 interchange on August 3 to install bridge signs as part of the 7th Movement of the Centennial Corridor project. From 8 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, the Ming Avenue on-ramp for northbound Highway 99 and the westbound Highway 58 on-ramp will be closed. Northbound Highway 99 will also experience sequential lane closures starting at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Monday, with all lanes expected to reopen by 6 a.m. Tuesday.
