Samsung Plans Eight Flagship Smartphone Launches for 2027

Samsung Electronics is planning a "4+4" flagship strategy for 2027, aiming to launch eight premium smartphones across the calendar year. The company has reportedly already communicated these development plans to its component and supply chain partners.

The first half of 2027 will feature four Galaxy S27 models: a standard S27, an S27+, an S27 Ultra, and a newly introduced S27 Pro tier. These will be followed in the second half of the year, likely around July, by four foldable devices consisting of the Galaxy Z Flip 9, Galaxy Z Fold 9, Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra, and a second-generation Galaxy Z TriFold.

Unlike the original TriFold, which served as a limited technology showcase of roughly 30,000 units, the successor is intended for broader consumer adoption and will be manufactured in significantly larger quantities. The next-generation TriFold is expected to maintain a 9.96-inch main screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 6.49-inch cover screen, though it may incorporate an inward-folding design and a slimmer chassis.
