Central Bank of Nigeria Reports 3.87% Economic Growth for 2025

The Central Bank of Nigeria reported in its 2025 annual report that the domestic economy expanded by 3.87%, up from 3.38% in 2024. The bank attributed this acceleration to the rebasing of the economy and various sector reforms.
Headline inflation saw a significant decrease, falling to 15.15% in December 2025 from 34.80% at the end of 2024. The bank credited this decline to exchange rate stability and the tightening of monetary policy. Fiscal performance also improved, with federation receipts growing by 33.67% and tax effort increasing to 7.15% of GDP.
Public debt rose to N153.292.48 by September 2025, accounting for 35.55% of GDP. The bank noted that this figure remains below the national ceiling of 60%. On a global scale, the report observed a deceleration of inflation to 4.20% and stable output growth of 3.30%.
