Travelers at Manchester Airport faced significant flight disruptions over two consecutive days in September 2026. On September 18, multiple airlines including easyJet, TUI, Jet2, Ryanair, and Lufthansa reported delays exceeding 45 minutes, with some departures pushed back by over 90 minutes. Destinations affected included Paris, Gdansk, and Palma de Mallorca, while a SAS flight to Oslo was cancelled.

Disruptions continued on September 19 when the airport temporarily closed one runway for routine maintenance. This closure caused delays for both arriving and departing flights that persisted into the evening. A Ryanair service to Cork and an easyJet flight from Paris Charles de Gaulle were among the most severely impacted, with the latter facing a delay of approximately two hours. Arrivals from Cairo, Amsterdam, and Munich also ran behind schedule.

Airport officials stated that flights scheduled for Sunday morning were not showing delays. The weekend disruptions follow separate technical issues that caused significant passenger disruption at the airport several weeks prior.
