Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Honors Folk Singer Teejan Bai

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai concluded a two-day cabinet Chintan Shivir, or brainstorming camp, at the Indian Institute of Management Raipur on July 5, 2026. During the proceedings, Sai paid tribute to the legendary Pandwani folk singer Teejan Bai following her death, stating that she brought global recognition to the state's culture.

Bai, a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan, had been bedridden in her village of Ganiyari. She had received government-provided home care following an admission to AIIMS Raipur in 2024.

The third phase of the brainstorming camp focused on governance and development, specifically regarding agriculture, tourism, and Digital India. The event included an early morning yoga session for cabinet ministers conducted by the Art of Living.
