CIBN and ACAMB Partner to Close Gender Financial Gap

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and ACAMB are partnering to drive financial inclusion for women and MSME owners to close a 9% gender access gap.

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and the Association of Corporate Communication and Marketing Professionals in Banks (ACAMB) have formed an alliance to prioritize financial inclusion and women's empowerment. The partnership seeks to reduce a 9% gender gap in access to formal financial services and provide better support for micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) owners.

These initiatives were discussed during a courtesy visit by ACAMB to Dr. Dele Alabi, the 24th President and Chairman of Council of the CIBN. Dr. Alabi detailed his "IMPACT" vision, which rests on six pillars including professionalism, technology, and inclusion across gender, geographic, and generational lines. He intends to target the gender gap through improved insurance, savings, and micro-credit services.

ACAMB President Jide Sipe advocated for the banking industry to move away from individualism and instead adopt economies of scale through collaboration in marketing and advertising. As part of the visit, Sipe invited Dr. Alabi to chair ACAMB's 30th-anniversary Gala Night on September 30, 2026, and pledged communication support for the upcoming CIBN Banking Conference.
