Apple Releases iOS 27 and WatchOS 27 Updates

Apple Inc. released iOS 27 and WatchOS 27, introducing a suite of AI-driven features and interface redesigns across its mobile ecosystem. The iOS 27 update brings an advanced Siri assistant and system refinements for devices dating back to the iPhone 11. New parental controls include the Ask to Browse feature for children under 13 and expanded Communications Safety filters that block nudity, gore, and violence.

Safari now includes a Notify Me tool for tracking price changes and item availability. While the update provides AI-powered photo editing tools to remove distractions and extend backgrounds, these Apple Intelligence features are restricted to models starting with the iPhone 15 Pro. The new Siri AI app is currently in beta via a waitlist, though its rollout in the European Union is delayed due to regional digital regulations.

Complementing the phone update, WatchOS 27 introduces a dynamic app grid that prioritizes recent and frequently used applications. The interface displays six top apps upon pressing the digital crown, with others stored in an app bubble. The update also adds a gesture-based Smart Stack widget and improved Shazam integration. WatchOS 27 is compatible with Apple Watch Series 9 through 12, SE 3, and Ultra 2 through 4, but requires the paired iPhone to be running iOS 27.
