Japan July Unemployment Rate Drops to 2.4 Percent

The Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications reported Friday that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 2.4 percent in July. This figure outperformed market expectations of 2.5 percent, which would have seen the rate remain unchanged from the previous month.

While the unemployment rate declined, the job-to-applicant ratio remained steady at 1.18. This ratio fell slightly short of the 1.19 forecast predicted by analysts.
