Apple Appoints Steve Smith as Head of M&A

Apple Inc. appointed Steve Smith as the new head of mergers and acquisitions and corporate development. Smith takes over the role from Adrian Perica, who led the company's M&A function for more than ten years.

Perica will remain at the company, shifting his focus to oversee the News, Fitness+, and iCloud businesses. In this new capacity, Perica reports to services chief Eddy Cue. This management shuffle is part of a series of organizational changes implemented under Chief Executive Officer John Ternus.
