US Special Envoy Sergio Gor Visits Bangladesh to Strengthen Ties

US Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs Sergio Gor visited Dhaka on July 30, 2026, to advance bilateral cooperation between the United States and Bangladesh. During his first official visit to the country, Gor met with Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman to discuss expanding engagement in areas of mutual interest and strengthening the diplomatic partnership.

Following the meeting, Gor characterized the discussions as having "lots of positive developments." He expressed optimism regarding the future momentum of the relationship, stating that it was a productive first visit to meet with the Foreign Minister to coordinate on joint efforts between the two nations.
