Super Micro Computer Expands OCP Portfolio for AI Data Centers

Super Micro Computer, Inc. expanded its Open Compute Project portfolio to accelerate the deployment of rack-scale AI and high-performance computing data centers.

Super Micro Computer, Inc. expanded its portfolio of Open Compute Project (OCP) Accepted systems, racks, and rear door heat exchangers to speed up the deployment of rack-scale AI and High Performance Computing (HPC) data centers. The company is utilizing its Data Center Building Block Solutions (DCBBS) to integrate compute, networking, power, and liquid cooling into validated solutions.

The expanded offering includes ORv3 and ORW racks featuring 48V DC busbars and DLC-2 direct-to-chip liquid cooling. To support high-capacity networking, the portfolio incorporates 800G and 1.6T Ethernet switches, alongside NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet Photonics switch systems and specialized platforms for NVIDIA Vera Rubin and AMD Helios. These integrations aim to increase compute density and energy efficiency in both new and existing facilities.

President and CEO Charles Liang stated that the DCBBS approach helps customers simplify complexity and accelerate the path from innovation to production. Dirk Van Slyke, Vice President of Marketing at OCP, noted that these solutions allow customers to maximize facility capacity and efficiency while scaling to meet evolving AI demands.
