KFC U.S. Switches Beverage Supplier to Coca-Cola
KFC U.S. will replace PepsiCo with The Coca-Cola Company as its beverage supplier starting in January 2027 to drive growth and innovation.
KFC U.S. will switch its beverage supplier from PepsiCo to The Coca-Cola Company starting in January 2027. The rollout is expected to reach all U.S. restaurants by the end of the first quarter of 2027, marking the first time in decades the chain has changed its domestic drink provider since its 1986 acquisition.
Catherine Tan-Gillespie, President of KFC U.S., led the decision as part of a strategy to attract diners and compete with rivals like Chick-fil-A and Popeyes. The move follows beverage experiments conducted at the company's Open House innovation restaurant in Texas. Tan-Gillespie stated the new partnership provides a platform to innovate and meet changing tastes, calling the decision a critical step in the Kentucky Fried Comeback.
While the U.S. market transitions, PepsiCo will remain a partner for KFC's international markets and its parent company, Yum! Brands. The Coca-Cola Company intends to leverage its portfolio to create more refreshing consumer experiences and unlock new growth possibilities within the fast-food chain.
