Armenia Advances Diplomatic Ties with Ukraine and Lithuania

Armenia conducted a series of diplomatic engagements on August 11 to strengthen ties with European partners. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation with Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius to discuss the implementation of a joint declaration on a strategic partnership. The two leaders focused on expanding cooperation across various sectors and developing Armenia's relations with the European Union.

Simultaneously, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan spoke with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha to advance bilateral dialogue. The conversation followed a recent visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Armenia for the European Political Community Summit. During the call, Sybiha briefed Mirzoyan on the impact of Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and the resulting threats to regional stability.

Both the Ukrainian and Armenian ministers agreed to maintain close contact, noting that security in their respective regions is essential for broader European security.
