Ireland Manufacturing Production Rises 4.5 Percent in Second Quarter

The Central Statistics Office reported that production in manufacturing industries increased by 4.5 percent in the three months ending June 2026 compared to the previous quarter. While the sector saw short-term growth, production experienced an annual decrease of 5.0 percent when compared to the same period in 2025.

Overall turnover in the sector rose by 6.8 percent over the previous quarter but declined by 7.2 percent annually. The data includes manufacturing activity for enterprises headquartered in Ireland, covering both domestic operations and those conducted abroad through subcontractors or subsidiaries.

Sector-specific results show a broad decline across different industry types. The modern sector, which includes chemical, pharmaceutical, and computer and electronic industries, saw an annual production fall of 5.4 percent, while the traditional sector decreased by 5.2 percent.
