Colombia Coffee Production Drops 15 Percent in 2025/26

The National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia reports a 15 percent drop in annual coffee production due to adverse weather and lower yields.

Colombia's coffee production fell 15 percent during the 2025/26 coffee year, dropping to 12.65 million 60-kilogram bags from 14.87 million bags in the previous year. The National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia attributed the decline to lower yields and adverse weather conditions.

Coffee exports for the crop year decreased 12 percent to 11.78 million bags. During this cycle, the federation exported 2.54 million bags, which accounted for 21.5 percent of the country's total coffee exports. Imports reached 1.61 million bags, while domestic consumption totaled 2.32 million bags annually.

Despite the overall annual decline, recent data shows a short-term recovery. September production increased 6 percent to 1.215 million bags, and September exports rose 9 percent to 1.17 million bags compared to the previous year.
