Tencent Cloud is establishing its first Cloud Region in Johor, Malaysia, featuring up to three availability zones to improve service resilience and performance for local enterprises. Unveiled at the Tencent Cloud C-Suite Dialogue 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, the expansion provides the infrastructure necessary for data-heavy applications and AI-powered workflows.
As part of the rollout, the company introduced several AI tools, including the TokenHub Model-as-a-Service platform, the Agent Development Platform, and the agentic workspace Tencent WorkBuddy. To incentivize adoption, Tencent Cloud is offering its Hy3 large model for free through WorkBuddy until August 31, 2026.
To support the local ecosystem, the company partnered with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia to train more than 1,000 digital and AI professionals via certification programs, a Train-the-Trainer initiative, and innovation hackathons. Additionally, Tencent Cloud established collaborations with Boost and Genting Plantations Group to integrate AI agent solutions into their business operations.
